All I want for Christmas…

It is that time of the year again. Now,  what that time of the year means for each of us is, of course, different and subjective – but what is for all of us for sure is that time when we hear Mariah Carey everywhere jingling with her sweet voice “All I want for Christmas…is…”

The problem with this song is the part with “All I want…”. It gets to me every year and it makes me ask myself every time I hear it “What do I want for Christmas this year?”, eventually ending up in making a list with all the impossible things I want, like snow in The Netherlands or no more pandemic.

Therefore, this year too, whether I wanted it or not, I ended up with a wishlist to welcome December with. So, my dear reader, I am sharing it with you and I want you to know that all I want for Christmas in 2020 is…

To wish you to wake up on Christmas day and have your spirit filled with the real meaning and feelings of this holiday, which serve as the purpose of its very own existence.

I wish you when you open your eyes, the things you see in the first moments are things that make you smile and make you feel grateful. Whether it’s your pet, your family, your friends, the sky or your dreams coming true… may it be a thing that fills your heart with hope and makes you feel content.

I wish your morning to be a moment when, while looking around and waking up, drinking your coffee, having breakfast, being with someone or reading a book… you feel you are in the right place, doing the right thing and smile in relief.

I wish you that during the day when meeting people you feel stronger than ever the bond you have with them, what they mean to you, what you mean to them and feed your soul with coziness and light, to make you feel safe and to see that you’re not alone.

I wish you that when exchanging presents you give and receive the joy and care that was put into them more than anything else and you feel appreciated and valued, through the time and attention that was dedicated to you.

I wish you that the time you spend between dear people to be a time when your whole being is filled with peace and you can offer them and to yourself… the best version of yourself.

I wish you when you go out and look at the lights and decorations all around and at people’s windows to feel the freedom of our time, the beauty of our modern era, the power of your age and to be at peace with most of your life choices.

I wish you that when gazing in the evening at the Christmas three and when looking into the eyes that you care for the most, you feel you’re loved and capable of it all.

I wish you when thinking about life, to feel strong and to have the power to say…

“It’s OK. I’ve got this. Happy Holidays!” 🙂
